The Team ABM BMX team
TEAM ABM is a newly-established BMX team
with some accomplished riders (ranging from
six to 17-year-old girls and boys).
The youngest rider, who can also be the most
competitive, is Chloe Reeh. This will be her
first year racing, and she is hoping to show the
boys how it’s done. Caide and Eithan Goveia –
Caide being the dare devil and Ethan being
very clinical in his approach to riding – make
them both well-established riders with SA
Colours and titles under their belts. Georgie
Grassie is a dynamite young lass who also has
Colours and titles behind her name. She is
also talented in numerous sports and not
afraid to race the boys.
Christopher Axford, a determined and
passionate rider, is only in his second year of
racing, but after winning the KZN
Championship last year, he is hungry for an SA
title.
Lastly, the oldest and elite rider, Manqoba
Madida, is hoping to travel to the World
Champs this year, provided that enough funds
are raided to assist him to represent South
Africa.
Most of the team members are trained by
former world champion, Tyron Johns.
Team Update 26 April 2016
This past weekend our team went into the
3rd round of the Club points event of the
year held at Giba Gorge. The team were
geared up after a successful weekend at
PMB the weekend before and were ready to
dominate. With that being said, there was no
holding them back. They each showed their
own skill and determination to get the
overall results that were a clean sweep.
Chloe’ rode the pedals off her bike, growing
every weekend and showing us that she is
hungry for a win. She finished with a 3rd for
the Day in the girls 7-8 Novice.
Caide, Had a solid day of riding and was
fighting for first place for most of the day.
With great drive Caide secured himself a
solid overall 2nd for the Day in the Boys 11 -
12 Expert.
Georgie, had a great day too. After literally
eating dirt in practice she bounced back and
stuck it out with the boys. She stood her
ground and held her own, giving her a 2nd
overall for the day in the boys Under 16
Expert. Girl Power!
Ethan, also had a cracker of a day. Mr
Clinical, went out and showed how it is done
as usual. With an extremely tough class that
was split into two gates, there was great
competition, but Ethan finished with an
outstanding 1st overall for the Day in the
Boys 16 Expert. Great Job Eth.
Christopher, Chris had a dominating day
too. It was great to see Chris in his comfort
zone and getting the job done. He took no
prisoners even when they started leaning
over onto him, but he still managed to
secure himself a fantastic 3rd Overall in the
Boys 16 Expert.
Manquoba, Now this was one of the classes
to watch. The top 3 were in a class of their
own and our boy was up there. Mangies
didn’t hold back, and didn't make a mistake
once. He made wise decisions that not only
kept him safe and on the bike, but also
guaranteed him a 3rd overall for the Day in
the Men’s Super class.
All in all I am so proud of our team again this
week end. Standing on the side of the track,
watching them not only ride together, but
Race together, cheer each other on,
Congratulate each other and be there for
each other. That alone makes me proud to
be Our team manager. That is what a team
